CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Click here to see this picture enlarged We ask all of our parents of young children to follow a 'well-child policy' in which children with fever, coughing, runny nose, or any other flu-like symptoms are kept at home.

Children 0 to 5 years may be brought to the classroom hallway where they will be checked in with sanitized pagers. Three separate sanitized rooms will be ready with sanitized toys, and a child or children within the same family/group will be supervised in each room by gloved, masked nursery/preschool staff. The sanitized Preschool room in the front hallway will be available on an individual basis for a nursing mother and/or a family member that wishes to stay with his/her own child.

Because of restrictions from our bishop and the fact that children are not great at social distancing, we will not have Children's Church or Sunday School at this time. Of course, your children are always welcome to stay with you in the service.

Children’s Church meets in the library during the sermon time of our worship service. This gathering provides children, 4 years old through the 6th grade, a special opportunity to learn about God’s love for His people through the ages, and how that same love is manifested through us as we use the unique gifts God has given to each of us. The lessons and activities presented involve various learning styles, as well as the use of all our senses, as we explore God’s world, His Word, and His perfect will for our lives.

We are currently using The Story for Children (a curriculum which leads us through the Bible, helping each child to be aware of God’s message through Bible verses, points, stories and learning activities) and the Big Book of Bible Story Fun (another curriculum which shares stories from God’s Word with reinforcement from drawing, sign language, or sculpting with play dough). This spring, we will cover the following topics:
• Epiphany
• Ash Wednesday/Lent
• Easter
• Pentecost

We would love to have you join us. After all, each of us is a precious child of God!

This summer and fall, we will cover the following topics:
• Pentecost
• The Fruits of the Spirit
• The Gifts of the Spirit
• The Early Church & Its Leaders – Peter, Stephen, Philip, Paul, and James
• Jesus’ Return as King

In November and December, we will participate in Advent activities as we walk the road to Bethlehem. Then, we can truly celebrate the birth of Jesus with knowledge and joy (and a fabulous birthday party!).

We would love to have you join us. After all, each of us is a precious child of God!
