BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS

Saturday, October 3, 2020

, TX

On Saturday, October 3rd at 10:00 a.m., we will remember Saint Francis of Assisi, an Italian friar, deacon, and preacher whose feast day is October 4th, by coming together for a Blessing of the Animals. St. Francis became known as the patron saint of animals and the natural environment, so we will bring our precious animals (under our control by leash or carrier) for a special time of prayer and thanksgiving. We will gather in the far corner of the parking lot away from the garden. This is always a special time for our church family, and this year we hope some of our neighbors might join us!
Then, on Sunday, October 4th, we will commemorate this feast day of St. Francis in our worship services, with prayers and readings, and the use of white vestments.
